Cape Dutch Homestead
Internal frame size: 15cm x 22cm

There are many beautiful examples of Cape Dutch architecture in and around Cape Town and on the picturesque wine farms of the Western Cape. This architecture is gracious and functional and is characterised by elegant gables, cool thatch and gleaming whitewashed walls. The gable came with the settlers from Holland in the late 17th century and was adapted to conditions in the Cape where examples range from the classic to the baroque.
